Coach holidays to Belgium - HELP!

Options
It's my dad's 70th birthday this week and I want to pay for him and his girlfriend to go to Belgium on a weekend coach tour. Like an organised holiday where they get to visit Brussels, Bruges, Ghent...that kind of thing.

Can anyone suggest a good company to do this with? I was thinking I'd order the brochures and let him choose but need a starting point. Need urgent help!

Hello, try Ledger holidays and also these

    Hope this helps
  • You could give these two a try:-
    www.shearings.com or www.newmarketholidays.co.uk

Shearings seem to have been going since the year dot but no experience of them - the latter always advertise in local papers - have used them three times and all very well organised.

Hope your Dad has a spiffing time.

How much? You're having a laugh!
  • Hi me and DH went to Belgium with National Holidays 3 years ago and had a great time, lovely hotel, very good meals and excellent service, check them out, reasonably priced too BSB

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
I have traveled before with David Urquhart Travel, very reasonably priced, and good choice of hotels usually. Never abroad though, so cannot recommend 100% for Belgium, but please feel free to get in touch with them: http://www.davidurquharttravel.co.uk/

Hope your dad and girlfriend have a great time!

Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Can anyone suggest a good company to do this with?

Gold Crest Holidays offer short breaks in the UK and Europe and their Ostend Weekend Break http://www.gold-crest.com/t_ostend-weekend-away.php includes return coach travel, 3 nights hotel with breakfast & dinner plus included excursions to Sluis, Bruges and Brussels.

Prices start from £189 per person and they offer a choice from more than 150 local departure points throughout England and Wales.

Hope that helps and that he enjoys his birthday.
  • I've done loads of holidays with Shearings and have enjoyed all but one (and I just won't be doing that type of thing again). I've been to Czech Rep; Poland twice; Tuscany; Alsace.

The one thing that they are unreliable about is that they can cancel tours when they don't have enough people, and while they offer you another date or another place, or your money back, it can be annoying.

I would equally use Shearings again, but would also be happy to go with another company.

Hope he has a great time.

  • You could also try www.coachholidays.com

They deal with lots of coach operators and offer a discount as well!

    Just my 2 pence!
