Broadband problem

Ok ill hep this as shrt as i can , can anyone please give me som advice.

Partner and i had orange broadband on a bt line

I was an idiot and artner left me and moved into a flat and took phone number with her

I am in house and broadband continued to work for 2 more weeks without an incoming phone line then pc says no connection

the house is now up for sale and i sont want to pay a year for a phone line just for net access as i wouldnt recieve any calls as im a "billy no mates!"

Any suggestions as yo how i can get internet access to my (empty!) house other than mobile broadband? and if not, is it any good?

You dismiss mobile broadband, but that would be the most obvious, if you live in a good signal area.

Are you in a cable area, if so, try Virgin Cable Broadband.

Other than that you need a phone line to be able to have ADSL broadband with any other supplier.

If this is your only choice, have a line reconnected by BT, then set-up broadband with a supplier that offers a monthly contract, so you can cancel without penalty at any time, for the best of these I'd recommend Zen.

Thaks for the reply, i think it looks like i will e Mobile broadband PAYG then as im out of the country 6 months a year. Do you have any preferences at to which one to go for?
  • I believe Orange are the only ones that do a PAYG option.

Unless you get another phone line your only option would be mobile broadband, three does a pretty good deal where you can go PAYG by attaching a modem to your PC. If your in a 3G area you can get pretty good download speeds.

An alternative would be to pay for a phone line and then get PAYG or pay monthly non contact broadband so you only pay line rental for 6months.

Who's name was your BT bill in...if it was joint you could complain and get your line re-instated without extending your contract with BT.
