    afternoon / evening all

unsettling but great news - I called into the bank this afternoon to firm up the overdraft (it's been set at £500 for the past decade but I've never used it) and she said yes, you've now got an overdraft of £7,100 available to you. I nearly wet myself :o before calmly saying that as I'd only need £1000 could she reduce the overdraft facility to that level for me.

So if the wuckfits at welcome finance will take a payment by card over the phone we could be rid of that debt by the weekend:D. Even better it brings our overall debt free date forward to... January / February (though it might be sooner depending on how much and how soon I get paid my 'special' payment from work.

jeez cat!! that is absolutely stark raving bonkers!!! £7100!!! how on earth would any bank expect you to ever work your way out of that one!!!!
when you clear welcome finance just be VERY CAREFUL!! the 2 loans i have had and paid off with them each time they have credited it to the account as a "payment" and not a settlement. as a result of this the account was never cleared and interest continued to accrue on a monthly basis on one occasion i owed in excess of £100 which i had to fight tooth and nail to get them to pay off. just check and double check and get a letter from them confirming the account is closed. xxx
debt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!

    Hi you lot,

Sometimes you try to imagine a person to 'fit' a post, I've tried and its beginning to scare me.
