lapttop at low prices

I am thinking of buying a laptop for me, no great requirements, e.g. no online games/videos/etc. Just straightforward office applications, internet, email, synchronising with ipod, etc. I've seen a Medion with 14" screen, BRAND NEW Intel® Pentium® 4 with 2.4 GHz
Microsoft® Windows® XP Home, Intel® Pentium® 4 with 2.4 GHz, 14.1" TFT XGA Colour Display, 256MB DDR-RAM, 20GB Hard drive, for £420.

Any views or altenatives?

Im not a fan of Medion's stuff and if you have a look on Ebay you'll see the amount of faulty ones for sale.

The chances are that the processor is a desktop P4 so it will have a disasterous battery life.

Dell have a good offer on at the minute for Latitude 1300 laptops starting at £400 or if you can hold out until after Christmas there will be plenty of bargains in the January sales.

yea you can't really beat dell at the moment for quality and price

try https://www.morgancomputers.co.uk i trust these guys bought a lot of stuff for them - if you up your budget a little bit you'll get a reall really good ;aptop.

also pc world are knocking them out for 350 quid a laptop this crimbo - don't expsect them t be on the shelves long though.
