You need a bigger screen

Why cant stickies just be put on a separate page - where you don't have to see them if you don't want to - or else 'collapse' and 'expand' on request?
And why do some excellent sticky candidates never get made 'sticky'? I'm thinking of the best regular savings account thread here and the best cash ISA one on the the ISAs sub-forum
And, continuing on this theme why do stickies seem to stay stickies forever? - eventually they will become irrelevent unless there is a means to 'promote' and 'relegate' onto/off the stickies 'page'.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
I think some of those could be made unsticky. When a thread goes to hundreds of pages nobody reads all the way through it to see if their answer is buried in there somewhere.
The useful ones are those where information is kept up to date on the first post (though obviously I am biased on this issue ).
The ones that I would like to see go are those that are referenced from articles on the main site. They can always be accessed through that route if people want (and I think that is how most posters find them). And as I say I think their size makes them of limited use as a resource anyway.
I also agree with your suggestions for sticky threads Milarky, once there has been a clearout.0 -

I agree with all your points here. I would also like to humbly suggest the Faster Payments thread,
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=985463
where I update the first page as soon as new progress has been reported. Several people have asked for it to be made sticky.0 -
And why not simply have an 'index of important threads' as a single sticky message at the top of each forum to replace the limited number of 'individual' sticky messages that space currently permits? Such a posting could be maintained by the forum moderator - all they would have to do is introduce the thread with a brief summary. (Indexing allows for subjects to be presented in a fixed, logical and easy-to-find order.).....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0

One sticky thread with a single post with links to certain subjects would be a good idea.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
