"No operating system" - what does this mean please?

Could someone please tell me what "no operating sytem means" in very plain terms.

It was in the description of Kapersky Internet Security 2009 eg:

Platform: browse-icon-windows._V25894213_.gif Windows Vista / XP, No Operating System

I use windows XP and internet explorer 7 - do I need to worry about any potential problems if I installed it?

Thanks.

P.S. I did google it but am non the wiser!

    Hi loaner,

Thanks.. I'm assuming thats for a download? I was gonna buy it from Amazon for £20.98 as I wanted the peace of mind of having it "in my hand" so to speak.

You should be fine to run this software, the platform lists all the operating systems that it will run on.

I think 'no operating system' is a mistake as it just doesnt make sense, i can see why you were confused.

The website mentions that xp service pack 2 is needed, so check if you have this...right click my computer and choose properties. It will tell you what service pack you have. If you only have service pack 1, then you will need to go to microsoft update and download service pack 2.

other than that, you should be fine.
