I am stumped
I can't remember what these things are called. It is basically a syringe of paint/dye. You inject a certain amount of it into white paint to get your desired colour, from chart on cardboard it is on.
Can you still buy these or am I years out of date??

I haven't seen them for ages but then I haven't looked for ages. I know exactly what you mean; all the DIY sheds sold them at one time, each with a chart of how much tint to add to achieve various shades.
I did a quick search tonight, using 'tinter' and 'stainer' as search terms and came up with these: Universal Tinters .
Depends what kind of paint you're using, though. I've successfully used artists' oil paints to tint gloss or satin paint in small quantities, and made cheap brilliant white emulsion less boring by dumping a small can of deep-coloured emulsion into it. Of course, both methods are a bit hit-and-miss.
My search also came up with the suggestion to try wholesale suppliers for incorrectly-mixed batches they might be selling cheaply. Depends on your reason for wanting tints, I guess.

add small amounts, you can always add more but you can't take it out.

Thanks for that, tint did not even enter my mind!! I am unsure if I should paint in white or make up a light grey, hence thinking one of these could be a good idea!
