Cold call oral contract scammers

    This sounds like a variation of those scams involving non-existent booklets or wall-charts supposedly to support the police or other emergency services. In these cases, businesses are phoned up asking if they want to place an advert in these publications.

    If the business expresses any kind of interest they are presented with a bill for a few hundred pounds even though they haven't signed any contract. This is then followed up by threats from debt collectors. The authorities have closed many of these companies down, but they still keep popping up. Most seem to be based in the North-West of England, just like the one above.
    What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
