About I CAN's Chatterbox Challenge
photo_1.jpg.ashxI CAN’s Chatterbox Challenge supported by Openreach is a sponsored sing-along event. Chatterbox Challenge 2009 will take place in February next year. You can pre-register for your activity pack now and it will arrive in the autumn.
Singing action songs and nursery rhymes improves all children’s communication. The free activity pack includes songs, rhymes and activities that have been selected by I CAN teachers and speech and language therapists with communication development in mind.
“The Chatterbox Challenge is a really fun, simple and inclusive way for all children to practise their speech and language skills.” Kate Freeman, Professional Advisor, I CAN
Children helping children

By holding an I CAN Chatterbox Challenge you’ll be singing songs to help all children’s speech and language skills and raising vital funds to help children who struggle to communicate.
Register for your 2009 pack

Register today and we will send you a free I CAN Chatterbox Challenge activity pack in the autumn. It includes everything you need to organise your own sponsored sing-along event.
Once you have registered for I CAN’s Chatterbox Challenge you will receive an activity pack with everything you need to organise your own sponsored sing-along including:
  • The words and actions to action songs and nursery rhymes. All have been selected by I CAN teachers and speech and language therapists with communication in mind
  • Activity sheets and ideas to encourage chatter from your little chatterboxes!
  • “I’m a Little Chatterbox” stickers and certificates for every child taking part
  • Sponsorship forms, a fold out collecting box and ideas to make fundraising easy
  • A resources booklet for the sing-along organiser. This includes letters to parent to keep them informed, an A3 poster to advertise your event and press releases to inform local papers of your group's activities
  • Useful information on how you can support children’s communication development

Worthwhile charity to hold an event for and plenty of fun while doing so:j

Hope this inspires some to have a go at fund-raising. This is directed towards a younger age range than my own boys but seems like a great idea for those who home ed really young uns!
