advice on areas needed- south lancs/north manc

in House buying, renting & selling
looking at buying a house when all the current mess settles down, somewhere in south lancs/north manc, am looking around the bury area, wonder if anyone knows what the best and worst areas of each town in the area is.

looking somewhere between ramsbottom and prestwich ideally?????
things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then ;)

    summerseat is nice with good motorway links will always be popular and priced high, green mount is nice. Closer to prestwich, the ringley road west area of whitefield is nice. sum very expensive houses and some middle of the range stuff, in fact there is a good mix depending on your budget.

    Do you know the area at all?

    yep, i do roughly, i'm looking at small houses as would be ftb

    If you like new houses, there is a whole development round Radcliffe that seems decent.

    When my sister and her family moved for work reasons closer to Manchester area many years ago they chose Ramsbottom and area as their choice. No guraantee but they are still there 15 years or so later

    Do you like older houses etc? I really like ramsbottom itself, lots of lovely nice shops and restaurants and old houses too.

    too many comps..not enough time!

    the only ones i can afford are the affordable housing type flats :o

    if i could afford more than i would be spoilt for choice

    i know how to get to places- i.e if someone tells me they live on xxxxxxx street i can literally drive to it but i dont know if areas are good/bad etc.

    trouble is like woby_tide said ramsbottom looked nice 15 years ago but no idea about now (i have no idea and i have lived in bury all my life)

    No the ones who hate other people live there.

    Like you say, "cool kids". They all want to seem cooler than everyone else.

    Which essential means they are all in competition with each other, which also means they all want to be the best and look down on everyone else.
