I have a Triax TD88(90cm) never lost any signal from any of the sats required. Meter? Never used one, Simple matter of a mobile and someone reading the meter on the Sat receiver in front of the TV, For a 1.1 I wouldn't even put in on a Diseqc motor, best suited to a Polar mount. Theb there is the small problem of planning permission for anything over 90cm

What about astra and hotbird etc?

Yes for someone doing it full time a you would need a meter, not for someone doing a bit of messing about.
