When we moved into our house in May, we were with Npower for both gas and electric and had a gas balance of £400 that we carried over from the previous address, but, due to a complete !!!! up on Npower's part regarding billing, we never paid any off the bill, gave up with them and changed to BG. we used NO GAS at all at this current property whist Npower were our supplier. They have sent me final bills and the gas have agreed we can pay off the outstanding bill at £33 a month by paypoint card, which suits me just fine as a I have a Co-op with a Paypoint less than 20yds from my house. However, Npower business, who we were with for the electric have said we can only pay off the £300 we owe for 6 months. Now I know that they are 2 seperate entities but both Npower all the same, and the only reason we were with the business division was because the house used to be a B&B, but we have tried over and over to swap to a domestic supply but we just kept getting the same old "we'll send you the forms" but none came, this, coupled with previous billing cockups was the reason we swapped to BG. So, how can I get Npower business to agree to a longer term to pay off the electric? I am so stressed as I simply cannot afford to pay £85 a month to Npower AS WELL as £95 a month to BG. please help!
CC limits £26000
Long term CC debt £0
Total low rate loan debt £3000
Almost debt free feeling, priceless.
Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.

I think six months is reasonable - but obviously only if you can afford it. Have you sent them a statement of affairs detailing income and outgoings and making a proposal to clear the debt? How long have you asked them to give you?0

6 months is NPower's standard payment sceme time.
If you're having trouble affording that ten call and ask if it's possible to pay over a longer time, sometimes they'll confirm with another team and say yes right away, however be prepared to send a financial statement (your local CAB can help you prepare one)
Sometimes they will say no. In which case, take it higher and if needed.0 -
Part of the problem you will have is that is was classified as a business therefore they are highly unlikely to let it drag on and your personally finanaces are nothing to do with the business,IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
