    Perhaps do a list of what you consider is wrong with this school and another list of what would be good. Also do a list of their weak religeous education and pastoral care. If the good list is quite long then perhaps also consider where he may get additional Catholic teaching from, perhaps your self and your church.

    Your local authority should have a 'parent partnership' service to support parents of children with SEN. You could enlist their support in this, as you have two different admission processes to consider. One for meeting your child's SEN (which follows from the Annual Review of the statement) and another for parental choice regarding school (which follows from your expression of preference).
