Any idea on how long it takes for all the bits to come through the post?

    Cheers
  • got mine in about 4 days of the telephone call, they wanted more ID (driving licence) I then had to drive 40 miles round trip to the nearest bank, and got card ect about 5 days later.

Superb service and no problems what so ever so far, Online banking is ok too.

We've been into our local branch today to open an account for OH. They were really nice and friendly. We just couldn't bring ourselves to tell them the real reason for opening the account. Is that going to cause a problem when OH goes BR? CBx:o

I dont think so, someone might know better than me, but I told them straight away, infact the first words were "Hello, Im bankrupt and would like to open a basic account please" and it went through no problems.

Looking Back on all the posts on this thread say more than I could ever say about the Coop.

Wish they had a representetive who could post on this board.

Just think of the bonus they would get for all the new accounts opened

agree with the humour on the phone, brilliant service even told her about this site. I told her I would be going BR soon, she said no problem, I have my account number now and card but no money in there I decided to leave putting any in til day of BR or after.

Have to say the Co OP get a big thumbs up from me for the service on the phone and the nice way it was dealt with.

I hope my experience of banking with them is a good one, but I am sure it will be by everything I have not only read on here, but the lady who set my account up on the phone was HUMAN, which is nice to find these days, and HERE in the UK as well another bonus.

I do not think you will have a problem when they are told about the BR as the lady told me herself on the phone they hope to always be BR friendly.

Dez the lady I spoke to took the url of this site and was going to tell her manager to come on here and take a look at how well the co op was thought of by people on here.

She was well impressed when she asked where did I hear about the account and I said ON HERE. She said she always misses Martins shows but thought he was brilliant.:D

  • I've had such a lovely experience with Co-Op.

In fact, when DH and I went BR we went into the bank to open our joint account and DH's account, showed them the BR certificate and we were told that this is what the Cashminder account is for.

Very friendly, helpful people. I also had a boo-boo with my account recently in that I cancelled a DD online as I wanted to pay in cash, but the company concerned still tried to take the money out of my account on the due date. I panicked and put money in to cover this but when I called the Co-Op, they said that as I had cancelled the DD with the bank, the money would be returned to the company concerned and I would have no charges on my account - much better than any other experience I have had with other banks in he past.
  • soon the coop and barclays will be the only solvent banks, seeing they are the only ones who accept BC customers, the rest will fold due to lack of customers. They will be shivering because all the accounts are frozen!!!!

But i think if trends continue, banks will start taking BCs on as customers they wont have a choice if the amount of BC increases dramatically, not just BC also those with adverse credit (dont like the term "Bad Credit" winds me up as much as "Credit Crunch", like it sounds any better than "recession"). Will be interesting to see how things unfold in the coming months/years.
