FILLED IN AN ib50

I filled out an IB50 for incapacity benefit and sent it off approx 2 weeks ago , if i need to go for a medical i know they usually phone you could anybody tell me how long they waited from sending your IB50 back to when they actually phoned you up to attend a medical .

It varies depending on how busy they are and if they need further information, but it is usually 2 or 3 months but I know sometimes it can be less or more.

and normally they give you a weeks notice some times more

Do you mean it could be 2-3 months before they ring me for a medical or 2-3 months in all ?

As I was answering your original question, 2-3 months before they ring for a medical but as I said it can vary.

It seems to vary from area to area but my last IB50 took 17 weeks to process last year,remember its not definite that you will be called for a medical many people arent

Thanks everyone i filled out an IB50 last year and i waited & waited for a phone call to be called to a medical but after 5 months wait i got a letter saying i had passed and i never went for a medical .

I am hoping i wont be called again for a medical so i just wondered if they were going to call me for one would they do it pretty early on as in the first few weeks of me sending my IB50 back but from the replys they could call me even after a few months .
