Housing Benefit Run on

Im Moving house on Monday, ive only just found out today, I need to send my current housing assosiation my 4 weeks notice, and i need to swap my housing benefit over to my new house. Ive heard I can get a 4 week run on of housing benefit for my old house for the notice period...is this true i cant find any info anywhere and what are the eligibilty criteria?

You get the 4 weeks run on when you get a job that is for 16 hours or more (ie takes you off Income Support or JSA) and expect the job to last at least 5 weeks.

I'm not aware of anything for a 'notice period.'

Yes you can get the double rent for up to 4 weeks if they accept you had to move quickly and had to give notice on the old property.

You do need to move into the new property right away to get it paid on the old one requiring the 4 weeks notice.

Forms should be at the council.

You have to state it is HB on two properties and explain the reason for this - normally OK for four weeks if you cannot live out your notice period on HA properties.
