Amex nectar offer

Has this offer now been taken down? I jsut clicked on the links to the application via the Moneysupermarket site and there is no mention of the free points!

Comments

  • Can't see any mention either, also does anyone know when this offer ends?
2p off is still 2p off!
  • Neither can I - I clicked on the link given in Martin's email but this just refers to the 1,000 free points, not the 6,000. I'd like to apply for this - does anyone have an alternative link for the 6,000 points?

    Many thanks.
  • Martin's detailed notes on this Nectar offer state that you have to make a purchase before 31st Dec to get the 6000 points! If I applied for the card today, would it arrive in time to take advantage of the offer??

I very much doubt it, chances are slim.

  • Maybe I don't read the fine print often enough but I'm a bit confused.

From T & Cs of Amex Nectar Card
    5. TOTAL CHARGE FOR CREDIT AND INTEREST CHARGES

5.1 The total charge for credit is £101.30

This consists entirely of interest and is based on the sum of £1,500 being borrowed at the start of the agreement and being repaid in equal monthly instalments over the period of one year at the standard interest rate for purchases set out in condition 4.1, and does not take into account any promotional rate that we may apply.

Does this mean you are sneakily charged a fee?

I applied for this card only 2 weeks ago and received a telephone call (nice personal touch) within 5 days from Amex to say that I had been accepted for it and would receive my card in the post in a few days. And there it was.

The only reason I applied for this card was because of the low 5.9% balance transfer interest rate, for the life of the balance (I hadn't discovered this website then...).

However, on Martin's notes it says that the 5.9% is only for 6 months, but I'm certain its for the life of the balance. Can someone please concur?

    Cheers
    ;)

If you go on this page:
    http://www.moneysupermarket.com/cards/credit_card.asp
It states clearly 6000 points offer, but when you click to subscribe, it goes to 1000 points. I would do it for 6000 but wouldn't bother for 1000...
The other thing is the offer say "apply before 31st December", not "use the card before..."

    Anymore experiences with this?

    Redboots,

This is the governments idea of making things simple for us by using a standard calculation.

    However it usually only confuses!

Basically, if after any intro period you spent £1500 on the card and paid it off in 12 installments, the amount of interest you would be charged would be £101.30.

Since you will probably pay it off in full or use the introductory offer you will never pay this amount.

    R.
Smile :), it makes people wonder what you have been up to.
