just got a suit from M&S Outlet. Jacket reduced from £75 to £18 and trousers were £35 reduced to £14. A great looking suit and a great price too!0

There is an M&S outlet on the Lakeside Retail Park, Thurrock, Essex.0

If you can find a Next outlet ("Next to Nothing" they're called) you might find a decent suit or two - the sizes are a bit random, but imho they have a better selection than M&S and the quality is about the same.
If you have to wear a suit every day - I'd avoid those cheap ASDA/Tesco suits though - other suit wearers can tell the difference!0 -
FSDSS,
Is this charity shop in London? I have tried my local ones in South East London and none had suits or office type suits.
no sorry in leicestershire.......mind you it would still be cheaper to train ride it up here and get a couple of suits (provided you had rung them first)Give blood - its free0 -
my ex got (well I got him!) a really lovely suit in Primark, £40 the lot! A friend who works for a large City law firm complimented him on itt and asked him where it was from! There's no way it last as long as a more expensive suit, but it'll buy you time until you can affrod more expensive ones. Also, if you buy it new, get two pairs of trousers for each jacket and rotate them. Trousers always wear much more quickly!0

Suits from the M&S outlet are always a good bet - my OH bought one there and he got jacket, trousers plus a shirt and tie for I think 80 quid. Good luck!
PS - fsdss - where in Leicestershire is your local charity shop??? I live in Leicestershire and my local charity shops in Coalville dont have much. Think I need to pay your local shop a visit*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
i would suggest debenhams and marks and spencer....both have good machine washable ranges that look much more expensive than they really are and so long as you take care (ie wash on the right temp, take out and ideally steam to let the creases fall out) look perfectly respectable. i personally think a very cheap bog-standard suit can look more expensive than a truly expensive outfit by making a few personal alterations - change the buttons if they look a bit naff, change the lining to a really bright unusual designer type colour (as in neon pick, or purple) and team it with an expensive tie or shirt - you could ask for those bits for presents, and your whole outfit suddenly looks very fashionable and expensive...have fun with it!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Thanks all, that was going to be my next question. As you know the City "boys" like to flash a bit. Most of my colleagues wear suits from £500 upwards.
Anyone here wears Tesco, Asda or Matalan suits to office on a daily basis? If so, are they ok to "pass on" as normal City suits?
Also, I am considering approaching the manager to explain my present situation and ask for vouchers or allow me to buy the suits on expenses, would you guys recommend it?
Many, many thanks for all your help.Member 7 of 100 to 10k - £100 to £10k = £1490
