Best CC now I'm redundant!

Hi all, first post, finding my feet etc. so all gentleness appreciated.

Here's the overview.

Just been made redundant but because of a divorce I can't use the redundancy money to clear all debts etc. until divorce details sorted but I can pull on it as if it was my monthly salary. I want to move some credit card debts to get the lowest or nil interest for as long as I can.

I have:

Halifax One Credit Card with about £500 on it
Tesco Visa Credit Card with about £600 on it
Lloyds TSB Plat Credit Card with about £850 on it
Egg with £0 on it

My original thought was Anniversary offer on Egg! But I don't know my anniversary date and suspect it wasn't during December so looks like a no go (how do you find out the anniversary anyway?)

SO what I wanted some help on was..... whats the best strategy given that when asked about my salary I have to declare nil so am likely to be refused?

What card(s) should I use/move to?

many thanks

I suggest you contact Egg via their secure messaging area when you log into your account and ask them about your anniversary date. They usually respond within 24 hours.

With regards to you other questions, I'm sure someone more experienced will be coming along shortly to advise you!

oh...by all means...use the redundant money to clear your debt as much as you can. (if the other side doesn't know it yet)
at the end of the day, when your case be settled, you might end up only half of your redundant money left, but all of your credit card debts!! (the other side will say, oh, well, that is your personal expense)
  • Thanks for the comments peeps, will certainly look to clear what I can!
If anyone knows of a good card I can use or what the best 'balance transfer' I can do with my existing cards is I would appreciate the sterr - I don't think I'd get any new cards while I'm redundant!

    Thanks
