Epson dx3800.How simple are they to use, fit, ect,.

Hi,
It looks like my epson c42+ has given up the ghost as I cannot seem to be able to get it to print clearly.I followed all the advice that you clever folks posted but it still won't work.
One of you suggested a new Epson dx3800 and I wonder if you can tell me if it is

a. easy to use

b.easy to install.

c.are the cartriges easy to fit

I don't do a great deal of printing ,but it's used maybe about once or twice a week. I go to adult -education where I am doing a GCSE Law.
Sorry if I sound a bit blank, but technology is a bit of a struggle for this O.A.P.
As I am widowed and live on my own I have to have something that is easy to use, as sadly I no longer have my smart husband to help me anymore.
The price seems to be within my budget, so if anyone out there has got one perhaps you could let me know if it fulfills my criteria.
Again, apologies for sounding a bit dense.
Cheers, Jackie in North Kent

    do you really need a printer/copier/scanner ??

you can probably get a cheap basic printer for less if printing is all you do ?

ps, my mums 77 and she installed her own printer :) you more or less put the disc in to install and it tells you when to plug the printer in !!

Well I have a scanner that came with my computer and unfortunately I have never figured out how to install it so a combination one would probably help as if I want to scan say a photo then I have to post it to one of my daughters and they scan it and send it to me via their computer
I really am a dense old gal when it comes to machines

If you are using XP (the version of Windows you use) then it should simply be a case of plugging in the new printer and attaching the USB (bit that goes to the computer) cable. The PC will then tell you it has found new hardware and do what needs to be done. Thats it basically.

When you need to change cartridges, then the PC should tell you the ink is low. Press the maintenance button on the printer and follow the prompts.

If you don't use XP then the printer will come with a CD rom with all the bits on that the PC needs. Just load in the CD and follow the prompts. You really cannot go wrong. But if you do, then we are all here. Just post again saying what why and where.

    Good luck.
