flat roof horror

i hate flat roofs.
unfortunately have 2 of them (polyroof). one is leaking badly, needs replacing asap as it is now raining indoors as well as out:eek: .
have looked at permaroof - am awaiting a quote. does anyone have any experience of it?
i would love to get rid of the flat roof, but think it would be difficult due to there being quite a span on it and an upstairs window being just above it, preventing the required slope for a nice slate roof i presume - i'm no expert, please feel free to correct me if i'm wrong or offer any other suggestions.
