Ok chaps, I am looking into getting a new HD LCD/Plasma TV. It will more than likely come with a Freeview Tuner, but I don't get a fantastic reception and am considering opting for Freesat HD. So my query is, does the Tv's digital tuner work with freesat HD or would I still need to get a Freesat HD box thus rendering the inbuilt digital tuner surplus to requirements?
Thanks
Thanks

You'd need a Freesat satellite box. The TVs inbuilt freeview tuner can only decode and accept a standard aerial signal (not satellite), so if you go for freesat, it'll be surplus to requirements.
Unless of course there are new TVs appearing/going to appear with a freesat decoder and connection built-in...0 -
You CAN now buy tvs with inbuilt freesat (I think Panasonic have 1 or 2 out now)
Bare in mind youll need a satellite dish obviously:idea:0 -

Well there are some that have Freesat HD built in but they do cost quite a bit more.Bare in mind youll need a satellite dish obviously
There's no difference between a freesat dish and a freesat HD dish is there?.....0 -
Well
Your options then are to buy the sat dish and freesat box setup and connect via HDMI
OR
Look into setting the aerial up better ~ maybe a new aerial and using H109/CT100 type co-ax cable (highly resistant to interference)

Its still really dependant on where the signals coming from. Freesat will almsot certainly give you a better picture, as its less prone to interference and uses more bandwidth (so im led to believe):idea:0 -
Freesat, Freesat HD, Sky, SkyHD all work on a Sky dish pointed in the same direction. For Sky+ type stuff you need 2 feeds coming from the dish.0

Does anyone have the panasonic one with freesat included, any good?0
