Wow some great responses here. We have already gone down the route of looking who has a civil licence and checking them out on line. I don't have any "white pages" so thanks Aimee and Horace for the lists - there are some venues on there that we haven't looked into yet.

Nv - Dodmoor house is unfortunately too expensive for us but I do hear it is a great venue. I checked out your link to Hartington Hall - it looks fab! The exclusive use fee is more than we were hoping to pay but when you consider it is for the whole weekend, includes accommodation and the food prices are cheap then it's quite a bargain. Plus the kids would love the fluffy animals!

I will check out some of the places on the list and let you know how I do. If anyone else has any suggestions/recommendations (esp if you have been there/got married there) then that would be great.

Thanks glad you like the yha venue. I know for a fact there is no availability until at least October next year so guess is not suitable for yourselves.

Apologies if you've already found somewhere (I'm a bit late reading this!!!)

My sis got married at Sutton Bonnington earlier this year and it was fantastic, we had the hall from Friday night to Sunday morning and nothing was too much trouble at all, staff were lovely, food was gorgeous and half the time you didn't even notice things happening (when the buffet finished it just dissappeared, never saw anyone removing empty platters or the tables!!) Everyone there agreed it was fantastic.
