ING - stick or split?

Okay, there seems to be a division between those in favour of staying with ING and those who are moving out.

Hopefully, I'll attach a poll to this thread to see what the balance is.

7.15% fixed for 3 years from ING seems a good deal for me ;)

Never got that when I saved with them before

I had just opened an ING account ready to move my Icesave money into when it matured in a few weeks time. I moved out of ING 2 years ago into Icesave. ING is fine with the benefit of allowing 3 linked accounts. When my Kaupthing CHAPS comes through it will probably go to ING.

Yes but 7.15% fixed for 3-years when interest rates are dropping is fair going. Is ING as secure as Halifax - probably a bit more according to the CDS rating

But if interest rates keep declining you'll be able to get nowhere near 7.15% in 6 months time. 3 years is a long time to lock up money for though.
  • No more fixed rate "bonds" denying access to my money. BIG mistake.
    Dont do it people.

    No more off shore banks.

Pulled £13k out of ING 3 days ago. ING and their dancing interest rates were, in part, the reason for me plonking a wad in Icesave. If ING hadnt !!!!!!ed about with their rates 12 months ago, my money would still be at liberty.

In future, my cash is going within brick throwing distance of my house.
  • ditto..

    no more fixed rates
    no more off shore
UK comp scheme...and an industrial safe in concrete
