I used to have free AVG and was happy with it but when i started having problems following the "upgrade" to version 8 about 6 months I switched to Avira Anti Vir free.
It has been excellent with regular updates and getting good reviews in various tests.
I see no need to pay for anti virus, especially when it is known that common sense and good computing practice is equally as important as software.0
