Has anyone bought blinds from Hiliarys and had them fitted. Also are they reasonably priced blinds and approx. how much would fitting be?
If there are any other companies someone could recommend in the Essex area i would be grateful for your comments.
Thank You

Did a first class job for me. I think it is franchise though. I would use again as cheapest way of doing things is to get it right first time!Don't waste your words I don't need,
Anything from you.
I don't care where you've been or,
What you plan to do.0 -
I was happy with their service when used them for living room.0

I used them 2 years ago, and can heartily recommend them - to the extent that I am planning on using them again shortly.
Well worth hanging on for a deal though (which they have all the time), as I had mine done when it was a buy one get one free offer - and I got the 2 biggest windows in the house done (they even threw in a free upgrade to better material cos I dithered!)."It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that, I'm sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it comin'."

yes its a franchise and you can get good and bad on these.. my elderly neighbour ordered a blind from them then the guy who sold her it left it took them 2 months to get it sorted and fitted but the fitting was brill....Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,

Miles cheaper than anyone else I went too. I fitted them myself though. Dead simple for anyone with a bit of a clue about DIY.I save so I can spend.0 -
This is Peter the Pleater on line, you can get them a little cheaper if you go to the shop and pick them up.

I agree had mine supplied and fitted by them too, three years later blinds are still looking good and three of our neighbours liked them so much they had theirs done too, so did my mum!
They always have offers as well. I would wait till Jan if you can to check out whatever New Yr offers they may have and get a deal.MFWB

Hello there,
I had my vertical blinds fitted in an extension on Monday. The couple who came and measured were very professional, and offered a wide choice of blinds. I was scepitical about their '50% off' deals, but when I checked the prices out against local companies, they really were very competitive. I ordered the blinds, they were available to be fitted within about 7 days. The couple came, and fitted them professionally - we have a steel ring beam, so it was quite tricky. When I chatted to them over a deserved cup of tea, they said that Hillary's supply most of the well known local companies, and that was how they were able to under cut them. They don't have any showrooms, but use 'agents'. Not sure if that actually means a franchise. Based on my experience, I couldn't be happier. So many shoes, so little time....0 -
I worked for Hillarys for donkeys years, the agents work on commision they are not franchisees, if you get one that has been with them for a little while you will get good job, if you wait after getting a quote they will keep offering you lower prices, also look on the net, they do an internet fit yourself service. There is a blind shop on the high street in Hadleigh too, they sell and fit hillarys stuff under their own name. In fact most of the components in this country were made by hillarys and sold out under the Arena brand, they are the biggest manufactures in the country now.
Hope this helpsThe quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0 -
I make blinds and disagree with some of the above quotes, Hillary's is a pretty good company and quite large but the certainly dont make most of the blinds or components in the country, that accolade belongs to the Hunter Douglas group. You can usually get a good deal from your local blind specialist who lwill have a larger range for you to select from, most will match any other price. Best advice is to get a couple of quotes making sure you are comparing like with like.0
