Does DVI monitor input make alot of difference?

Folks :-
I would like a nice 17" or even 19" LCD monitor and reclaim my desk.

I have got £100 worth of capital bonds vouchers (https://www.capitalbonds.co.uk) that are earmarked to partly pay for this. These are redemmable in assorted high street shops including Comet, Argos and Miller Brothers. Unfortunately the selection is fairly grim and in my initial spec (12ms or less, DVI input, 450:1 contrast range or better) something is going to have to give.

Therefore I am wondering how much better using a DSUB connection is over a 'VGA' / DSUB - I know the theory (no D to A converter so in theory sharper more accurate pictures) but is it actually perceptable?

Thanks

Kevin

In my experience no, made hardly any difference - worse if anything. I get watery edges on letters.
