I reset the password, still no joy. Tried to create a new .co.uk account, but even when I selected UK from the list, I still only got the option to open a .com account.tigermatt wrote:I have received this exact same error when I tried to sign in with my .NET passport, but not hotmail.co.uk account. (You can register other e-mail addresses as .NET passports for MSN Messenger) Basically, I registered my other e-mail address as a .NET passport so I didn't need to maintain a second e-mail adress (Hotmail) for Messenger.
Are you signing in with a hotmail account, or another non-hotmail .NET passport account?
I have my normal (plusnet) e-mail address registered for the .net passport account - and have no bother logging in with MSN Messenger with it. I did try to log in using the hotmail address, just to see what would happen and it told me that either the e-mail address or password was incorrect.
I think I'm just going to have to put this down to experience and not bother with it - it's not like I don't have plenty of other options! I was just a bit annoyed that they seem to have cancelled it out of hand - didn't even send me a warning e-mail to my .net passport e-mail address, which you would have thought they should do. :rolleyes:0
