Co-op Dividend

Yippee - The good old Co-op has made my day again. On the mat this morning were two letters to me and OH. Dividend £10 Voucher (we don't really spend much there), Two books of vouchers for use in store inc two free bottles of vino :j and best of all £25 between us "membership share divi" - just for being members!
I recall when I applied for thier new Dividend card a few years ago I ticked the box saying both of us agreed to be members (at a cost of £1 each), I didn't mind coz they are a "honest" alternative to the big players like Tesco and haven't sold thier soul like some busineses. They've been paying us back ever since!
£35 for supporting the local store!! Cheers Co-op

There's a Co-op opening up in my area, so am quite looking forward to it. So how do these dividends work then? How often do you get money-off coupons? And do they ever take manufacturers' coupons for things you haven't bought?0

Apply for their Dividend Card (like a tesco clubcard), they will have forms in store. If you see an option to become a member on the App form take it. It will cost you a pound but it will be well worth it. Use the card like any loyalty card, they scan it in when you pay for anything.
The Divi paid each year depends on what you spend, as a member you will also get a share of the overall profit (as it's a co-operative not a Private business). If you have a new store coming watch out for opening offers!0 -

They pay out the dividend vouchers twice a year, as well as sending you a book of money off vouchers. You usually get 1p per £ spent as a divi, but they often have special offers such as extra 50p divi for buying a particular item. Or 2p per £ spent on fresh fruit & veg.
They tend only take vouchers for items you've bought & you can't use supermarket chain ones, only manufacture's & of course their own.
There is also a Co op credit card that earns you dividend too.
The membership profit share out started last year & paid each member £10. It was a lovely surprise to get a nice payout again this year.
A big benefit of becoming a member, especially if you live near one of their department stores or superstores is that they often have special member's days throughout the year where you can save 10% on everything & 20% on clothes. This doesn't apply to food stores.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -

My local Co-Op have just sold out to Tesco! The post office has gone as that was within store.
The good news is that my shopping bill has considerably reduced since Tesco arrived.Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0 -
Tesco being cheaper is just a popular myth which just proves that if you tell somone often enough that the co-op is expensive and tescos(for example is cheaper) they will believe it, even when its not true.0

This may be a stupid question but ........
Years ago I opened a Co-Op share account thingee with £ 100.00 I think. I don't have the card that you use when you go shopping. Is this divi in relation to the share account thingee ( cos I've never had anything in respect of it ) or is it the shopping card ??0 -

It's a shopping "loyalty" card, I'm not sure if it has any use with co-op banking.0
