We are a socialist state now!!

Now that most major UK banks are effectiively under government control, and the banks control the econemy, we have finally arrived at socialism through unbridled capitalism.
Who would would have though that? (apart from me :p).

Socialism is the natural state and always has been.
All attempts to get rid of socialism result in disaster, capitalism is an inherently unstable
social system, it cannot work because capitalism destroys the fabric which society is made of.

I now claim my Noble Prize for economics.:j

  • There are those that would say Democracy, as is, is a great lie.

A vote every 4/5 years in a two-party state. A choice of two very similar ideologies.

And U.S is doing exactly the same! I think it is an exaggeration to say we are a socialist state, as there is no long term intention to control the means of production etc etc. However there are times like these, when survival means that control has to be assumed by the state. It happened between 39 and 45.
  • Ignore all the evidence to the contrary - we are definitely living in a socialist state. Time to dust off our red flags and start planting potatoes. Things are going to get grim.
  • So is zimbabwe an example of a socialist state , it hits the boxes in sharing of wealth?

Russia , and china , they arent exactly a model of socialism anymore?

somewhere outside both socialism and capitalism is utopia , which will never truly be acheived and simply cant be , humans are the weakest link.

With humans there will always be greed and costs for it , its an inheritted trait that is needed for living. The first human had a mental value system in both protecting food from others , and in taking it from them, long before trading it which is lets face it less bad than warring for it.Its self preservation , even when using communal means to do so , its still everyman for themselves even when done in numbers.

With any greed there has to be a loss at the other end to be a value for the other , be that money , eating another animal , or merely passing on genes , there is a value in everything for everything that lives.

The only semiexceptions to the rule are the likes of bees , ie communal lifeforms like termites and ants whom have no sense of value other than the value of survival of the hive...even though survival is their only value system it is not a monentary nor barter based one.

The work ethic to survive is therefore the only true socialism , and only if everyone gets the same from it , from the leader down to those unable to work....all getting the same housing , medical treatment , food , clothing and transport.

    gene roddenberry thank you
Have you tried turning it off and on again?

They are the largest shareholder and are providing the capital which keeps them alive, they effectively have 100% control.
They have already sacked Andy Hornby from HBOS despite not officially having control. They are in charge, believe me.

They 'own' those companies access to capital.
If a company is not doing as it wants it can just pull the plug on it's credit line and effectively cripple it.

Yep that's about the size of it, subsidised housing, we all live in council houses how,
