Opening a Lloyds Plus Joint a/c

A quick word of warning to anyone considering opening one of these a/c's. If you open it online, you cannot set it up as a joint a/c.
The procedure in this case is that you are supposed to be able to add someone else on once the account is running by going to the bank with ID etc (about a week after application).
My wife and I tried this today (the account was in my name) and when they tried to add my wife to the account, as in Little Britain, ‘the computer says no’.
After calling around, the lady at the bank found out this was something to do with the sort code being shared with another branch in the next town. Not a great problem as they photocopied the ID and are forwarding it on for the other bank to process.
I just thought it was worth a mention as it’s probably much easier just to open it in the bank first time round.
