Surprised you have not heard of them.

They are one of many VoIP providers, not the best, not the cheapest, but people often go with them as they are the AOL of VoIP.

You make calls using your internet connection, great if you have cable broadband, not so great if you have ADSL as you can't dump the landline.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

    VoIP

Voice over Internet Protocol. Using your broadband to make phone calls.

As to who is the cheapest it depends on your calling pattern.

Myself currently I use Vyke and VoIPStunt (VoIPStunt I have kept as when they first started out they issued local VoIP-In phone numbers for free and I have a very good memorable incoming number from them).

I have used Sipgate in the past, though only for incoming calls and calls to other Sipgate users and other users where there are peering arrangement as there is no cost, you also get an incoming local number of any area-code of your choice free, however calls are charged at 1.19p/min for chargable landline calls - still as there's no monthly charges if you don't make that many calls then is well worth it.

There are sister companies to VoIPStunt that offer various pricing structures, different number of free days, free countries and prices.

I can look complicated and that's where Vonage comes in, however it's not really as complicated as it first looks.
