Microsoft Office - legal way to keep costs down?

A friend is planning to buy an Apple Mac and has been told by a (wholly legitimate) supplier of Mac software that if they buy a full copy of Entourage (the email program) and an upgrade for Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint) Entourage can be installed onto the computer BEFORE installing Office and that Office is an upgrade from Entourage. Apparently this is a legal way to keep down the cost of Microsoft Office. Anyone tried it/got any comments, please?

If it works, then it is perfectly legal.
Companies often sell upgrade versions at far cheaper prices than full versions. All you need for it to work is an older version. If Microsoft accept "Entourage" as a base for an upgrade then go for it...0 -
MS Office Updates can be just as expensive as the full packages!
Why not try openoffice.org which is fully compatible with Office, but is free :santa2: ?0
