iPod Car Kits

Hi,
I am planning on buying a new iPod Nano. I don't know what generation it is (possibly 5th?
) but they're here on the Apple website.
I would like to buy a kit so I can play it in my car but I don't know what I need, what suits the new iPod Nano (I've read on some sites that a lot of the older iPod accessories don't work with the new Nanos) or what a good price is to pay for it.
I've looked on the Apple site and saw this one. However, my car's cigarette lighter is near the gear stick (so on the "ground", nstead of on the bit where the air con/blower controls are), so I'm not sure if the car kit I've found on Apple's site would be suitable or not as it looks like it plugs in at a different angle.
Hope this vaguely makes sense

It depends entirely on what car stereo you have and what connectors or inputs it has.0

Hi,
I assume your on about gettin a "Apple 4th generation nano"?
I have the old Apple Ipod 80GB 5.5 Gen and at first I got one of them "chinese cheap crap" CCC FM Transmitters...it hardly worked and only gave out a very weak signal..so in the end I got the Griffin iTrip Auto FM Transmitter, which I can highly recommend

I wouldn't pay £50 for it thou, I paid £35 inc postage more than a year and a half ago..from eBay..I'm pretty sure you can pick them up off eBay now for about £25 inc postage.

If your car stereo has an aux-in port, then you can connect it directly with a 3.5mm jack lead for the best quality, many modern cars have these.
You can also get specific generation car "docks" which use the dock connector, but again you'll need a compatible car stereo.
If not, you'll need to go down the route of a FM Transmitter, I'd read many reviews and talked to those using them before we got one, the Kensington Universal one beat all, including the Belkins and iTrips which friends had but got poor quality sound.
You can get Kensington transmitters for between £20 and £30 (brand new obviously) on Amazon.co.uk, if you search this forum, you'll see this topic has cropped up many times before and there are some quite detailed threads about it, which you might find useful.0
