New HP printer can't install software

I have bought a new all in one hp printer. Tried to install software but it tells me it cannot install it, dont have file USBStor on my computer. I have spent along time onto technical support( and also on the net) who have now told me they will send out another printer as it might be a problem with my usb port on the back of the printer. I have since borrowed a laptop and successfully installed the printer. There are a few bits on the net but none of it works, but I know there is no problem with the printer. Any ideas? Thanks

It isn't a problem with the printer - it's a problem with Windows.0

Hi,
Try another USB port?
The only other thing I can think of is that if your running Vista, you might be installing the old XP drivers that will not work with Vista or visa versa?
I had a problem with my old HP printer...I just went on the HP website and downloaded the new Vista driver for my print...really easy!

I too had this problem with a HP printer, and eventually I gave up and took the printer back! Now I have to email things to my other computer to print off! Technology!!!!!0

Yes this has crossed my mind, not sure what else to do, but I like HP because of the paper feed at the front so need another one like that. The annoying part is that it works on a borrowed laptop so I know it does work.:mad:0
