Credit card protection against loss

Hi

I would like to take our credit card protection again the loss of my cards (rather than credit card repayment protection). You know, the one where you can phone one number if all of your cards are lost and they cancel them all for you.

Is it most cost effective to go through ones bank, or can you go direct to an insurance company.

Any advice greatly appreciated.
Titch :)

  • I've just searched this website looking for an answer to the same question.

I have used "CPP" in the past, which is £30.00 a year, and if you loose them, they will cancel all you cards for you etc.

Is it worth taking out this protection, or should I just keep safe a contact number for each of the cards I have, and give them all a call myself?

Any views on this would be great.

card protection schemes are really good, as you just never know the day when your wallet/purse etc gets pinched or in worst case your abroad and its not as easy to start phoning round all the different companies.

However, the number of people who have these policies and DO NOT tell there card protection company about change of credit card numbers is staggering. so if you get a new card and the pan number (16 digits) have changed then tell your protection company.

Another thought, if your in the sad position of having to phone your banks lost & stolen dept they all have at there disposal the telephone numbers of all the main providers world wide, so they can either transfer you on or give you the tele no
