Microsoft 'Attachments Security Update for OS' Is this email + attachment genuine

I think I'm getting paranoid about emails with attachments as I've nearly opened a couple that contain viruses etc. I've just received a mail from Microsoft as noted above, with an attachment of 48KB.

Is it real?

I would delete.

Why do you think Microsoft has "Window Updates"?

In any ccase - if it's got an attachment then either

a) it;s a virus or some other scumware

b) you have a friend prefers emailing you stuff

Thanks for the opinions - that's what I thought.

I do get Windows updates daily on a automatic basis so of course they wouldn't need to mail.

I'll delete immediately.
