upset with phone call from lloyds on dmp

hi all
sorry but i am sat in tears and need to vent.
We have had dmp for over 16 months with cccs. To cut long story short mostly it is going okay but have had loads of communication problems with lloyds and letters calls etc.
Tonight they called and i spoke with them about lloyds visa card. They were calling for update as our payments reduced 6 months ago due to rising costs mortgage etc and cccs sent them new plan. No other creditors have had a problem with this.
I was asked what are you doing to pay of your debt long term? what a question they know that on a dmp people are on bare minimum and we are both working and trying to pay our debts. I was then asked are you doing any overtime or saving any money? I just saw red and i let them know how i felt about that. I said that dmp is not the easy route and that cccs update all the time anyway and that if any changes are to be made i will update cccs to then tell the creditors.
I let the call get to me as the staff member made me feel so low life. Also the lady said well you have run up this debt quickly in the last 2 years before the dmp. I said i hope you never have to go through this stress and be in this position. I admit debt is firstly your own fault but i was offered a large loan by lloyds when i was only part time and that is irresponsible lending as well.
I am calming down now but i they should not be allowed to speak to people in that way - it could push people over the edge. I am a customer service advisor and i would never speak to anyone like that, but then i would never have that job!!!
anyway take care all onwards and upwards they are not going to get me down!!!!
bye for now.

seriously if they call again tell them to contact cccs if they really need to speak to someone - i would not even start to enter into a conversatoin with them its just not worth it - most of all dont let the b$st$$s get you down
  • I would say 'In the long term I might consider bankruptcy then non of you blood sucking leetches would get a penny, now !!!!!! off and if you phone me again I will be taking legal action against such harrasment !!!'

Yep, don't speak to them on the phone. If you do happen to, don't go through the security questions, and give them your CCCS ref no and hang up.

It really is not worth entering into any form of conversation with these people.

  • Hope you are ok now? ;)

I wonder if these types of people work on commission and they get a bonus if you increase your payments? Maybe that is why they are so rude and tell you a load of bull, mentioning baliffs, court action to scare you into paying more?

I have a loan with Lloyds and have recieved plenty of letters asking me to call them immediately so they can advise me on the next steps I can take???? Unless they tell me my debt has been wiped off their computer screens I'm not phoning them. :D

I recently asked for ppi to be stopped, I received a four page document asking me for very detailed information so they could review my payment/account, they wanted to know everything and anything apart from the colour of knickers I wear. I just threw it in the bin, they get what they get and that's that, I might be naive but I'm not stupid enough to reveal my new bank details, details of my job, bank balances etc to any creditor.

I think this is far too personal and I wouldn't trust them not to set up a direct debit if they have those type of details.

    Hi
Thanks for the replies they have helped me.

It is probably due to the fact we have not had many calls in last year as dmp has been since june 07 (first payment) and most of the calls were within the first 3 months . I have had loads of stress with lloyds and other things going on in life and i think i saw red when they asked me what i was going to do to pay of debts in long term? I did say that we are paying off best we can through cccs and they do the reviews and update them if any more payment is available. (they know that anyway).

Will try and keep upbeat about dmp and keep paying as we have paid £6,000 pounds already. One crediter still charging more interest then the payment and our balance is £1.00 more then when we started, despite calls to them about this they are accepting the plan but still charging interest. cccs have sent letters to them as well. anyone got any more advice on this would a letter help again from me?
    anyway thanks again
good luck to anyone starting on dmp
    take care all

  • Well first of all congratulations on paying so much :T £6000 wow!!

As for the creditor who has continued to charge interest    that is really disheartening and only furthers your debt to them. Why do they do this? It really annoys me it's so unfair when you are desperately trying to get yourself out of debt.

The only thing I would suggest for this would be to ask the creditor to stop interest as this will only further your financial hardship but you have been paying for a whole year and yet they still continue to take the !!!!.

I would if I were you consider asking them to take you to court OR try and stop payments to them and pay it off a creditor that has stopped the interest so at least you can see an improvemnet in your situation. If you continue like this you might aswell throw your money down the drain every month.

I really feel for you on this because I can sympathise how disheartening it is.

  • I can't offer advice as I am a newbie but I can imagine how upset you are feeling - it has probably thrown you back a bit, but dust yourself off and don't let them get to you. - you are doing great. Good luck :-)

Out of all my creditors lloyds were the worst they are truly nasty BUT if you think you have a case for mis selling go for it. they mis sold my loan and I was left with very little to live on and ran up big debts on credit cards. I was very frightened as I thought what the bank did was ok, eventually after finding this site i decided to stand up top LLoyds and after 6 months of not letting them get to me and keeping my cool I got paid out just over £16.000. this helped pay quite a lot off my debts. I wish in a way I had taken them to court but wasnt quite brave enough. When they ring again just put the phone down after giving them your cccs number. if you decide you have a case for mis selling good luck.

There is a letter you could use on the National Debtline website which asks creditors to freeze interest.

I know how frustrating it is. I'm on a DMP with CCCS and one of my creditors is still refusing to accept it after 10 months and still lumping on interest and charges - so my debt with them is actually more now than it was before I went on my dmp! I keep writing to them and keep asking me for bank statements, income and expenditure etc. I'm not sending my personal financial details to them and they know my income and expenditure which they have from CCCS and it hasn't changed! So, I am just waiting for them to pass the debt to a DCA and then hopefully interest and charges will be frozen.

    Good luck with it all.
