  • I've read on here that some banks will charge for receiving payments in currencies other than sterling, ie Euros from BARE.

Can anyone tell me if Barclays charge for this please?

And before someone tells me not to be so lazy and ring them, well I would except that it costs me money to ring 0845 numbers and every time I do ring them I get put through to a foreign call centre and have a difficult time trying to make the operator understand what my query actually is.

I have a really daft question - I want to register but am a bit concerned about my earnings ... i know I have to register as self employed. should I open a separate bank account for the earnings from MS assignments? do I have to sort tax/ni on a weekly or monthly basis? it's all a bit confuddling for me at the minute!

any help would be greatly appreciated. i tried to read it all but after about page 5 i started to go cross-eyed!

    thanks

people are always giving their opinions on different companies on here and giving them nick names!! :rotfl:
I think it would be fine to say the company name - the issue is when people start saying x company has jobs with this shop/restaurant and pay x amount. lol!

The taxman would suggest a seperate account as that way you can easily identify everything as business related, but it's your choice.

I keep meaning to open a 2nd one, possibly by one of the cash back sites, also some accounts will give you a bonus if you put in a min amount each month for a year. every little helps.

Not sure about NI so sorry can't help you there

Me neither - or so I thought! :rotfl: To be honest I had given up on them and don't even bother searching their jobs board anymore. Then got a phonecall from them out of the blue, asking me to do some jobs! Am still in shock!

They must have been really, really, really desperate! ;)
