The Mystery Shopping thread - part 6

Hey everyone, hope you're all good! Can I just say a big thankyou to Scaredy Cat and the others who gave me advice on the supermarket MS I did for TNS the other day...I was so confused, and you really helped me! When I came to do the report it was nowhere near as bad as I'd thought... hell, if they had made their briefing notes as clear as the questionaire I'd have had no problem, but I couldn't access the final version before doing the shop! Oh well.
I've got another question that I hope someone might be able to help me on. I've signed up for Tern, after reading good reports on here, and they want me to do a trial shop for them with no payment. I don't mind doing that if they're as good as everyone says they are, but I just wondered whether you actually have to go out and do the shop, or would it suffice to describe a recent visit? I did actually go into a local jewellers last week looking for a Mothers Day pressie for my mum (genuinely, not for a MS!) and was given good customer service, so I wondered whether I would be able to just describe that visit, rather than having to go out and do it all again? It was recent enough for me to remember all the details, and I even took notice of how clean the shop was and the customer service as it's become a habit (does anyone else find themselves doing MS observations when just going about doing your regular shopping? It drives my OH mad!). Do they actually send this test report to the client? Surely they can't do that, as they say you can go to any jewellers. Or is it just a test to find out what sort of reports we can write? As if they send it to the client I will obviously go out and do it again, because the date will be wrong - but if it's the latter then does anyone think I would be able to use last week's visit as the basis for the report?
Any thoughts gratefully recieved! If I have to go and do it again I will, but got a lot on this week - so if I can get away with using the visit I've already made then that would be great!

Am I correct in saying the RE bookies jobs are only available to men? They show up for my OH and not for me.
Yes, that's correct. That particular client will only accept male mystery shoppers, even if your profile says you do gamble etc. The bookies client Gap has accept men or women.0 -

Absolutely! That's exactly what I've done. Just so happened I did a jewellery shop and used that for my Tern report0 -

which company have you had so many jobs from????
a mixture of the ones on the front pages and few others
re and bare are the biggies for this month
have a total of 55 for this month now wither done or booked in, the last week of march is still free though with no jobs booked so that could changeSame. Somebody posted a couple of days ago that they were advised to add another postcode, in the city centre, to their GR account. I tried that, and now, a couple of days later, I've suddenly got a job after months of nothing! So thank you to whoever it was that posted that!
that was me  :beer:Number of jobs only tells half the story. If they are mostly for a rubbish fee then it doesn't amount to much.
Most of us could have done 33 by today as well if we all did all those cheap burger, pizza type jobs from you-know-who.
agreed
but gap took me of the golden arches in january and other that one chicken job as a last minute favour for them, ive not done any crap food
my fees for the month are below :money:0 -

just curious! I don't have time to do many jobs as working full time and away quite a few weekends, so only like to do about a max of 8-10 a month.0 -
To those of you that have done the car ones for B*** (another word for naked), how did the jobs go? were they hard, easy. Did you spend alot of time at each place? any advice, help would be greatly appreciated.0

I would count that as a positive. I am not doubting your word but we all know what RE's fees are. So your remaining jobs you got around £30 a job for. At least.Clique member no 1.:D0 -

Your fees are very good considering that we're only on the 10th day of the month. Do you do this fulltime and can you make a decent salary monthly doing it?0 -
I don't think £30 per job is unrealistic, but the jobs I do with these fees take me a good few hours with travel/doing it/reporting. I could only manage one a day.0

I did only 5 at the weekend, and actually found them OK. I was suprised as I was expecting the hard sell but not so in the case of the dealerships I visited. The questionnaires were quite straightforward I got 9 out of 10 for all 5 reports so not all that bad and I didnt go into too much detail. The visits must have been 30 minutes at the most for each, HTH
Look at post #5354 by ukmonkey, who managed to do double the number of visits that I did.
