The Mystery Shopping thread - part 6

The way I look at it (although I used to have the same opinion as you on this) is that if they paid me that reimbursement to spend a maximum of 3 minutes in the shop and another maximum 5 minutes writing up the report without buying anythin, I'd definitely do it. The fact that you spend more than the reimbursement just feels wrong. It's also a little loss for your accounts too!
if it was a burger/pizza and they wanted you to spend more than reimbursement i wouldn't bother but you always need petrol anyway so it's worth doing few of these jobs.0 -

I'm quite happy to take a hit with the burgers, I dont go out of my way ever with them, and use them as my lunch instead that day.0 -

Thats true Timmne & Pebblespop. The reports don't take long for gap and as you say, it is both a loss and some free fuel!! I humbly rethink lol.SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65

Hi, just wanted to say a HUGE thankyou to everyone who has contributed to this thread, and all the fab advice! I joined up to a few of the sites about a month ago, not really expecting there to be any jobs in my little town - but I've done 6 already, with another couple to go! Really enjoying it, so thankyou
Planning to try and join Retail Eyes tonight, so thought I'd ask if anyone wants to refer me? PM me if so! x

I did my first ever coffee shop job today. Must admit it was really good - had a few other jobs on as well but could have happily sat in there all morning. If only all my assignments were as nice.
I've got a petrol job on next week but it's on my way to two GR jobs so not too bad and it's only a few miles from where I live anyway. The petrol is more expensive than the supermarkets but I see it as free petrol as long as I'm doing another job. Don't think anyone does petrol jobs for the major supermarkets do they???0 -
Has anyone gone to do a job just before the time slot ends and walked in the shop and got served by someone who knows you.
If so did you:
A: Walk out and not complete the job.
B: Complete the job in a professional manner and send in the results.
What if when you go to pay for the item the person you know (but does not know you are a mystery shopper gives you staff discount)
Do you:
A: Refuse the discount and say that you wish to pay full price.
B: Take the discount and send the report in accuratly and on time but not mention the discount.
C: Do not send the report in and call the ms company and explainn that the jobs gone bottoms up.?0 -
I would:

C: Do not send the report in and call the ms company and explainn that the jobs gone bottoms up.
As far as I know you are not suppose to carry out jobs if your friends and family work for the company. Saying that, it depends if its someone you know well or someone you just know casually.0 -
I can't see DIY stores either on TNS
I've just counted and done 13 jobs for them, so not a brand newbie - not sure why they're not showing for me. I wonder if it's like Abai and we have to ask for them to be added?0 -

Don't think they are like Abai Josie. They are showing for me. There are none in my area but loads elsewhere. I wouldn't touch them. A while back posters on here said they were a complete nightmare and a huge amount of work for the fee paid. Almost everyone said they would never do them again.Clique member no 1.:D0
