Hi, I've recently started Mystery Shopping with Gap, and am enjoying the (supposedly) free pizzas and burgers! Since there are loads of experienced shoppers around here, could anyone please let me know which of the main companies actually evaluate cinemas ... ?
I registered with someone last year but can't for the life of me remember the name - I must have it here somewhere so will let you know if I find it - I had an email from them just before Christmas with some work but it was too awkward for me to get to so I couldn't do it. They only deal with Cinema visits as far as I remember. I'll try & find it & let you know.:D0 -

MarketChecker, but they advertise when they're looking for people so keep your eyes open here for a vacancy in your area.0 -
I've tried this and even if I select every single city available it says I am not eligible to complete jobs in this city - any ideas please? Is there a probation thing with them too?
I have had exactly the same thing with them recently too and I did do quite a few jobs with them back in the summer so do not think I would still be on probation.0 -
Sorry to sound absolutely completely stupid. I started MSing in August last year and have kept records of everything. I registered as self-employed with HMRC and also got a certificate of NI exemption.
As far as I'm aware I have to send a tax return online before 31st Jan. However I'm completely confused. It's asking me for my Unique Taxpayer Reference which I've never received, only this certificate.
Also is it too late for me to register? It said something about posting something out to me, and I'm a bit scared it won't arrive in time.
I read the OP but just can't figure all this stuff out.
Thanks for any help.0 -
You started in the 08/09 tax year and this doesn't end until April 2009. You will have from then till 31st jan 2010 to fill in your tax return0

Hi all
I have had a laugh today when reading my instructions for a Gap stamp shop job tomorrow.
It expects you to ask three questions:
One about car tax
One about coming off benefits
And the third that one of your parents has died and what to do about their card account.
Absolutely priceless, if you ask those three questions the staff member would think you were some kind of nutter. Do they actually consider what they are asking people to do?
Cheers Paul
PaulHerts - thanks for that. I hadn't read the instructions properly and thought you had to pick one of the three questions to ask, didn't realise it was all three. I had decided that I'd ask the car tax one as I don't think I could be convincing enough with the other two. Was planning to go this afternoon. Glad I read your post first. Now I have cancelled the job. I've only done two MS jobs so far, I think I'll stick to the burgers until I get a bit more used to it!!! I'll now have to think of something else to do this afternoon to put off ironing.

Can I ask a little advice regarding Tern please?
I registered/applied to them online back in August last year but have heard nothing since. Then, I noticed an advert for them on my local Job Centre website so I emailed for more info. They have just replied saying that as part of the application process I need to conduct an assignment in a jewellery store - WITH NO FEE!
So, what do you think? Since I am already registered as a self-employed mystery shopper, I am not happy about doing an assignment for no fee just to get on their books, also not happy that I applied months ago and they haven't bothered to contact me since.
Sorry if this sounds vague or bitter. I am just puzzled and wonder if those of you who are with Tern had to do this, too. Also, if this is the jewellery visit that Becles (was it Becles?) didn't get paid for, then it's one I would reject anyway. I thought the whole point of MSing was that you could choose which jobs you want to do. Would appreciate comments please.0 -

It's a "mock" assignment and very easy to complete.Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.0
