Hi,
I have a double mattress in good condition that I would prefer to donate to somekind of charity, rather than pay to get it picked up.
I'm struggling to find a British charity that would take it.
Any thoughts?
Cheers

If it has the necessary fire safety labels, then see if there are any furniture recycling projects in your area. In Bristol we have Emmaus, SOFA and Aspire, for example, plus some of the charity shops will take larger items.
If it doesn't have the necessary fire safety labels, no-one will take it, but you could then try Freecycle.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
As Savvy_Sue says, many towns do have furniture recycling schemes. Ask your local council who should be able to point you in the right direction.
As for the label, it should be a blue label which is sewn into the fabric at one end of the mattress. It should say fire resistant on it, and also has the british standard.
Alternatively have you tried freecycle?0 -
Maybe you could call and aks your local dogs home if they wanted it??
When my auntie got a new sofa, she donated her old one to the dogs home for the gorgeous kennel dogs to have a comfy place to rest x xTrainee Wakeboarder, Fashion and celebrity devotee!0
