SD camcorder - struggling to manage files on PC

Hi, sorry if this is a really stupid question but I'm stuck!
I've just bought an SD Camcorder - it's a Panasonic SDR-S7 - because I'm having huge problems with my neighbours, so basically I'm turning the camera on before I drive into my drive and turning it off once I'm inside the house so I have a timed and dated record of what's happening (more for audio than video as it's in my hand/ pocket - just so they can't accuse me of saying something and so I have evidence if they shout any more at me - I know it's illegal to film them so I'm not!)
Anyway - while the card is in the camera, no problem as each 1-2 min clip is timed and dated - but I've just tried to transfer the files on to a disc, which worked fine but all the files say they were created & modified this afternoon, when they're actually from the last 2 weeks!
How can I save each clip so it's clear when it was recorded? The time & date show up on screen when it's filming but not in the finished clip.
Please help & sorry for being thick!

Clearly the pc files are timed and dated just once theyre uploaded. Surely the cam has a setting that will display the time and date when IN USE?:idea:0

Can't see how to do that - I can only see a menu option to choose either no date & time, date & time or date only.0

Im assuming you have the manual?
