Hi

Anyone know the difference between Singapore Airlines (SQ....) and SILK Airline (MI.....)?

Trying to book a flight and it's giving me a choice of either SQ or MI

Thanks

Can't help on the MI one but Singapore are the best to fly. If I could fly everywhere with them I would. Service is second to none on the flights.
  • Silkair's a subsidary of Singapore airlines and only flies in asia. I assume Singapore airlines flight to be better as they usually have the bigger better planes. But do a check on that.

Orangemonkey corect. Slk Air is Singapore airlines regional carrier in Asia. Depending on length of flight and price difference. But Silk air should do a good job as Singapore airlines vg carriers. If it a connecting flight Singapore airlines use Malaysia Airways a lot as well so it might not be Singapore airways that take you.Where you flying to and from?

If no big price difference Stick to Silk. Its just when we have been over in Singapore and coming back over to Kualar Lumpur we book Singapore Airlines and sometimes its Air malaysia we get depending on the time. Enjoy
  • The Singapore to Yangon flights are operated by Silk Air. The booking engine just gives you the option to book it on a Silk Air or a Singapore Airways flight code. Either way, it is a Silk Air plane.

If you are going from Singapore to NZ then you may end up on a chartered plane with less legroom than SA planes, plus the seating plan on the SA website and on Seatguru is wrong as we found out to our cost!
