minor's accounts

If the children (minors) have savings accounts, are they each covered upto £35,000 (the current govt. guarantee limit) or will they be covered only upto any unspent balances of the parents. Are the minors counted as separate individuals.
Would be thankful for any advice.

    Assuming the account is held in the child's sole name, or the child is registered as the beneficiary of a trust (e.g. "Mrs Mummy trustee for Master Child") the child has a separate claim to the adult under the FSCS.
