Hi Ds dropped his laptop a couple of weeks ago and it wouldn't charge properly, once charger was removed. We sent it back to dell and they have just told me ot will be 195,00 to fix:eek: The thing cost 335.00 new direct from dell, so I've said no.I'm more mad at my son though as he was very slow coming with the truth about what had happened until AFTER I'd sent it off.I've asked for the computer back, but do you think it's woth getting a second opinion/see If It can get fixed cheaper elsewhere? Thanks

Isn't it covered on your insurance?
I think it depends what is the matter with it really.
If it was just the socket for the charger to plug into ,you might find it can be mended cheaper but if it is other things too like cracked or loose components, they would still need replacing anyway.0 -
