Can you recommend a tumble drier?/Tumble Drying v Ironing Costs

We have had our present tumble drier for 13 years and fixed it a few times along the way but so much is wrong with it now that we need to replace it. Can anyone recommend a new one please? Preferably with crease care (or do they all come with that these days?) ... even in hot weather I stick my line dried clothes in for 10 minutes to cut back on the ironing! My argument is that is is probably cheaper to do that than do a couple of hours extra ironing! Would be interested to know if there is any truth in that so if anyone reading this knows the answer please let me know! Thank you.

I do this all the time I very rarely need to Iron. I'm afraid Ironing isn't my favourite job. I usually hang my Sons white shirts on hangers and he put's one in the tumble dryer for about 5 mins before he puts it on for school and its Great and on these cold mornings they are nice and warm too. Ive just ordered the Hotpoint tumble Dryer which has the reverse action after my Creda stopped working. The last Hotpoint one I had lasted 13 years so I am hoping that the New one will be as reliable I wouldn't recommend Creda .0

i have a tumble drier , couldn't tell u what one tho. my husband bought it for me as a pressie after i had our second child. i used to spend hours ironing and i very much doubt using a tumble drier is cheaper than ironing, as i have noticed out elec bills have gone up , but the extra free time i have to spend with family is priceless0

I had a Hotpoint TD new about 3 years ago. Drum went after 4 weeks (4 weeks to repair) and heater went after another 4 weeks (would have taken longer to repair so I rejected it) Bought a White Knight A rated one. Works brill, and on those warm but wet summer days, there is an economy button where it just tumbles but doesn't heat (uses natural warmth in the air)
I'd go for one with sensor drying because if you over dry, then you'll spend even longer ironing

My White Knight GAS powered tumble dryer is the best ever, it is cheaper to run than electric powered equivalent, clothes dry quicker and I don't iron much at all, if you get the clothes out whilst hot and shake and fold they are ready to wear.
I have had Creda, Electrolux and bought Servis for my Mum, wouldn't swap my White Knight:xmassmile0 -
Thanks for all these replies - I am going to look into getting a White Knight - they sound good, except I can't have gas so I am hoping there is an electric version - BTW didn't know you could get A rated tumble driers! :xmassign:0

We have an electric White Knight WK447 now for 5 years. Never let us down and gets busy due to young kids. It has 2 settings - the lower one pretty much does it all for us.
Made in Britain too!*************************

We bought an electric only drier some six years ago it’s a Crusader Sensocare. I think it might have be a White Night but it is the own label product from Comet and it was the cheapest we could find at the time. There have been no problems with it and it’s used every day.
On reflection we should have spent a bit more and bought the one that tumbled both ways so that there are fewer creases.
Previously we had a Zanusi with a sensor for ten years. This is a better and much prettier machine but cost twice as much.0 -
We had a White Knight (electric). Found it noisy and it packed up after only three years. Now have a Hotpoint. It was the cheapest we could get with a sensor drier. Its doing fine but only two years old so too soon to judge.0

Can't really coment on the noise as we have a utility room and it's nowhere near where we sit etc so we don't hear ours, shame it packed up after 3 years, ours is about 12 or 13 and a relative has had one for around 20 years (both Gas). My DH is quite handy and he can get the parts to do little repairs direct form the factory.0
