Paying for PS3 'add ons'

Hi my son wants to buy an add on to call of duty 4.. a map pack....It seems that the only way to buy this is to enter credit card details 'on line' when he has connected his ps3 to the internet.
I am really unhappy about this and would like to add funds to his 'wallet' via the computer as this has online security.

Is this possible?? If so how can I do it?

    Yeah
    Its dead easy. You need to 'create an account' through the online sony site (through the ps3, possibly through your computer if you so desire). Makes sure you use a good password (mix up of numbers,letters and symbols)

    I use it tons, dont worry about it

    Then you find said maps on the same sony site and buy it. Funds will auto be taken out of your account (Though only in multiples of 5 pounds im afraid)

    If you did it via the ps3 there will be encryption in place

    Indeed. Payment over the Playstation Network is completely secure. You have nothing to worry about using the site directly through the PS3.
