Ulster Bank - Still 0% BT Fee?

Options
Hi All,

I started stoozing about 5 months ago by balance transfers from some cashback cards onto an Abbey Zero and then slow-stoozing up to the max limit (Incidently my application went fine and I've fortunately had a hassle-free time with them!)

I'm now looking for a BT before the 6 months run out on the Abbey Zero. I had previously thought to use the Ulster Gold Card for the next 6 months as this was the only other one on the market with no BT fee. However, I've noticed it's dissappeared from Martin's advice page on the site - does it still have no fee? I was just wondering if anyone's recently used this card with no BT fee and what experiences they've had with the applications and transfer service.

Thanks!

The Ulster Bank Gold card is still fee-free, according to the T&C's and the table at www.stoozing.com/0fees.php.

A word of warning though, most people only get a £3K credit limit (which can usually be increased to £3.6K during the activation call) so make some plans for any additional payment required on the Abbey Zero card.

I did a BT to them on 10 October, and was charged no fee.
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

Cheers guys, just checking! I only have ~£3500 on the Abbey card so a limit of £3600 will be fine.

Hmmm, got round to applying for this today and I've been rejected!

I have no idea why! I've checked both my experian and equifax credit reports and both absolutely squeaky clean (everything paid on time, addresses on electral register, not too many searches, financially linked to my wife who also has a squeaky clean record, etc, etc).

My personal income is ~£30K, household ~70K, I'm in full time employment and have a mortgage of ~£158K. I've got up to £10k of credit available over three cards, two of which are clear, with the Abbey Zero having ~£3400 on it.

I've always assumed my credit rating was very good/excellent. Where do I go from here? Shall I try contacting them for an explanation?

Mate, that sucks, sorry to hear that.

It never hurts to ask them why you were rejected. When I get declined for cards (and it's happened 5 or 6 times), I always ask, and the CC companies never tell me anything other than "you failed our criteria" so don't get your hopes up that they'll be anything other than extremely vague.

Reapplied over phone today and got accepted for initial £3000 limit. Looks like I filled something in on the internet form which the computer didn't like!
BT set up for £2850 (95%) to go to Abbey Zero, I guess I can set up a second one for the rest if I get the limit increased to £3600 and it goes out before the charging period kicks in on the Abbey Card?

    Well Done on getting accepted.

The £3k initial limit is pretty standard. A lot of people have had this increased to £3600, and following full repayment further increases have been granted.

If you can get an increase, there is nothing stopping you Balance Transferring a further 95%.
